Maintenance That Keeps Your Ski Ready

Saltwater, heat, vibration, and hard riding all add up. A jet ski can feel fine one weekend and then leave you fighting a no-start, rough idle, weak battery, or clogged cooling system the next. Regular maintenance catches the small stuff before it becomes an expensive repair or a tow back to the ramp.

At AOG Performance, maintenance is not a quick glance and a receipt. We go through the ski like riders who know what fails first: oil condition, filters, plugs, battery health, cooling flow, steering movement, hose condition, clamps, corrosion, and obvious wear around the pump and driveline.

What Our Maintenance Service Covers

Oil and filter service — Clean oil matters, especially on high-output and supercharged skis. We change the oil and filter correctly and check for signs of fuel dilution, water contamination, or metal that could point to a bigger issue.

Spark plugs and battery check — Weak starts, misfires, and rough idle often trace back to plugs or battery condition. We inspect, replace when needed, clean terminals, and make sure the charging system is doing its job.

Flush, lubrication, and inspection — We flush salt and debris from the cooling system, lubricate steering and throttle components, check hoses and clamps, and look over the pump, wear areas, and bilge so nothing obvious gets missed.

Pre-season and post-ride checks — Whether your ski is coming out of storage, coming off a heavy run, or new to you, we can give it a full once-over and tell you exactly what needs attention before you put real hours on it.

Built for New York Riding

Riding around Jamaica Bay, the Rockaways, Long Island, and the Jersey Shore is hard on equipment. Salt, sand, shells, and shallow water all speed up wear. A maintenance schedule built for freshwater lakes is not enough here. We service Sea-Doo, Yamaha, and Kawasaki skis with the local conditions in mind.

If you ride often, ride hard, or bought a used ski and do not know its history, bring it in. We will give it a clear inspection, handle the service items, and tell you honestly what can wait and what should be fixed before the next ride.

Common
Questions.

How often should I service my jet ski?

At minimum, service it once a season. If you ride often, ride in saltwater, or put hard hours on the ski, do it more frequently. Oil, plugs, battery health, cooling flow, and lubrication should never be ignored.

Do you service Sea-Doo, Yamaha, and Kawasaki?

Yes. We work on Sea-Doo, Yamaha WaveRunner, and Kawasaki Jet Ski models, including newer high-output skis and older machines where parts are still available.

Can you inspect a used jet ski before I buy it?

Yes. A pre-purchase inspection can save you from buying someone else's problem. We check the basics, scan when applicable, and look for obvious signs of neglect, corrosion, or mechanical issues.

Is maintenance different for saltwater skis?

Absolutely. Saltwater accelerates corrosion and buildup. Flushes, lubrication, anti-corrosion care, and connector inspections matter more when the ski lives around Jamaica Bay, Long Island, or the Jersey Shore.
